The Worldwide “Peregrinatio Mariae”   is been a prophetic intuition of a capuchin friar of the Marche, P. Giovanni Maria Leonardi.

After having prayed the Holy Spirit  and  having asked  the Madonna to be  better able to serve her, he wrote a letter - dated December 8, 1995 - to the Holy Father John Paul II. As marian preparation for  to the great Jubilee year 2000, he proposed a “Peregrinatio” of the Madonna through the Christian nations.

Seeking the involvement of various groups in the Cattolic Church he informed them of his plan, particularly the group known as Renewal in the Holy Spirit.

On  September 26, 1997,  the Rev.mo Padre Custodian of Holy Land

P. Joseph Nazzaro, gave his full consent to the plan and entrusted it to the same P. Giovanni Maria, who proceeded  to set in motion his “Peregrinatio”.

Consequenly, the cooperation of   the World Sanctuary of the Holy House of Loreto and that  of the  Capuchins of the Marche was obtained.

A new statue,  of exceptional beauty, was soon created, by the artist Gregor Mussner of Ortisei who followed precise instructions.

The “Peregrinatio”  began March 8  1998 from the Basilica of the Incarnation in Nazareth. It  reached  Loreto, on the Solemnity of the Annunciation (25 March). Then, on April 15,the statue“Maria of Nazareth”  was crowned by His Holiness John Paul II in Plaza of St. Peter in Rome.

From that moment, until  Christmas 1999, when it was returned to  Bethlehem,“Maria of Nazareth visited in  her “Peregrinatio”  35 nations, meeting large crowds of her children  and welcoming them through the consecration into her  Immaculate Heart.

Now “Maria of Nazareth” it is again in her…native city . We fervently ask her to resume her visits as  Mother and Queen, bringing to all  Jesus, the Prince of the Peace.

For this we commit ourselves again to a
